About Us
(Who we are, What we do, When & Where we do it)

           Our CEO
                  (Chief Excrement Officer)

Turd Wranglers was founded by Angela Bartnik in 2008 after a lengthly an ongoing road to recovery in which she strived to reclaim her life after a serious motor vehicle accident almost took it.  Her service with a smile and bounce back attitude are infectious.  To meet her one would not know immediately the physical challenges she is left with, the fact she is living with a multitude of medical problems and is in constant pain.  "I have but one life to live...Sure it slows me down - but I don't let it stop me!"

Broken, battered and a single parent she made strides to improve the quality of her children's lives.  "I was broke, frightened and alone."  Angela had been a regular face at Chillwack's Downtown Family Place when an angel named Carol Dorn recruited her to enroll in the Family Literacy and Families First programs.  These were free University programs offered through Community Services which provided academic upgrading, and life skills training such as Virtues parenting courses, time management, goal setting and coping strategies.  The courses involve creative writing (to unlock our imagination and set our spirits free),  self reflection (finding your inner person, the virtues within, likes, dislikes, direction and purpose in life), and of course the much needed child care while taking the classes. "I left there after two years of study a better person.  My youngest child blossomed socially and academically in the care of the child minders, and I left with my confidence back and a solid plan to reach my goals."

"When I reviewed my life list (lifetime achievement list, life to do list, bucket list - whatever you choose to call it) I then decided to return to the dream of owning my own company, and use an unfulfilled idea I had first explored at the tender age of 9 when my job was to clean up after the family dog."

Angela was so grateful to her community that she put in more volunteer hours than most for several years, and still does what she can.  "Contributing and helping others in need I am giving back to the community, but really I gain a lot as it gives me joy."

Angela Bartnik is the past and founding secretary of the Chihuahua Club of BC and of the Chihuahua Club of Canada.  She was a dog handler and the breeder of some of Canada's top winning Chihuahua's before retiring from the dog show scene.  She still loves the breed and keeps a Chi. or two of her own.

A strong proponent of the Human-Animal Bond our CEO loves all creatures, especially the friendly furry pets many of us share our lives with.  Sustainability and eco friendly solutions for our planet is her other passion.  "I believe we can always find better ways to reduce the impact we have our ecosystem and that each of us are equally responsible for the care of the world we share."

Angela got married in May of 2013 to her high-school sweetheart.  Her husband Geoff Wickens has "stepped in" to her life and the business as "Field Operations Manager" and has loved every minute of it.   In 2021 Geoff developed serious medical issues of his own which have impacted their lives and the way they run the business.  Angela and Geoff are working together diligently to overcome these new life challenges.  Still, they couldn't be happier or more in love.

Turd Wranglers aim is to provide all of their customers with "FASTER" service

Friendly
Affordable
Safe
Thorough
Ecologically Sustainable
Reliable
"We are not just better than the competition, we are also FASTER!"
For just over a dollar a day we can provide our residential bucket service. We pick up the bucket curbside once per week on a designated day.

If you only have one dog we can send our Turd Wrangler to round-up your back yard and take away the poop for less than $12.00 per week!  Problem eliminated!
More than one dog? No problem, for a small fee for each additional dog we will round up after them too!

The weekly round-up: We completely clean your yard of pet waste once a week, and leave a bucket for your convenience. The bucket is the perfect place to dispose of the turds you carried home in those little doggie bags from your walks or any little "accidents" that didn't make it to the exercise area!

Paper-training? We even take soiled newspaper!

We also offer canine bucket services if you prefer to scoop yourself, it’s up to you.
Kitty litter bucket services also offered on their own or as a package deal with dog services!

Breeders and Kennels - we have services for you too!

We are members of the Recycling Counsel of BC and believe in a sustainable planet. We use environmentally friendly methods, and are striving to become totally ecologically sustainable.  As of August 2018 we are the first pet waste removal company in Canada to become carbon-neutral. We produce renewable bio-gas from dog waste.  This bio-gas is created through the process of anaerobic digestion and is scrubbed and used to make renewable natural gas for Fortis BC which is pumped directly into their pipeline.  We are supplementing fossil based natural gas with a renewable product made locally, generating clean energy and helping to create new jobs in the process. We are all set to become the first pet waste company in Canada to use hybrid electric and electric pick up trucks.

We use compostable plastic-like bags to collect the waste in, and dispose of the different types of waste we collect in the most environmentally friendly means possible. We believe in zero waste initiatives and are always developing and testing new and better ways to collect and treat the waste we collect.

Our Wranglers are both pet and people-friendly and take great care in ensuring the safety and health of your pets when we visit.

We offer discounts to our Seniors, anyone with a service dog, and the disabled, as we believe in the power of the Human-Animal Bond!

Pet waste is a growing social and environmental concern. We dispose of the pet waste we collect by environmentally friendly means such as utilizing the sewage treatment plant,  composting and creation of renewable natural gas!  We uphold the city bylaws and prevent the spread of disease and the needless accumulation of millions and millions of plastic bags filled with pet waste that find their way to our land fills each year.
